Just asking out of curiosity? Used to live in Ladywood in Birmingham in my second year and it's probably the most dangerous part of Birmingham! Used condoms in the streets, prostitutes walking around at night, gang activity, giant rats in the street, mice in our house and nowhere to park!

1st year: lived on campus. Great. Good links to and from uni. Can also walk to the city in 30 minutes.

2nd year: only 1st years allowed on campus. 1h20 walk to uni, but bus service okay, and 45 min walk from city. Good location, walking distance to Lidl but up a hill on the way back...

3rd year: location worse. Terrible bus timetables which means that some hours there is only one bus an hour, at the hours where there are 2 the later one arrives a few minutes too late to be on time for lecturers, as it's timetables poorly but also mostly late. Further from city too (1h20 walk)

I go to uni in one of the safest cities in the UK so no weird stuff as you describe, just overpopulation and silly buses
