I received a payment the other day and it said its from SLC disbursements. Now im not entirely sure what that is. Is it the maintenance loan or is it a separate payment and if it's the same why is it lower than the amount stated on the entitlement summary on my sfe account?
Please explain because i'm really confused

    Hi Crimson_Pie,

The SLC controls the disbursement of many billions of pounds of public money each year.

It's just a payment, check online under your payments tab or for any Notification of Entitlement letter that has been sent out, you will see this under your correspondence tab, if you are still confused, to clarify what this payment is for, then give us a call on

    Tel: 0300 100 0607

(Open Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 8.00pm and between 9.00am and 4.00pm on Saturday and Sunday. Local call rates apply).

    Thanks Rona

As the SFE rep said, this is your maintenance loan - SLC stands for Student Loans Company; they are who loan you money, SFE are like a broker.

To further add on to the SFE rep's explanation, your maintenance loan is split into three payments, 33%, 33%, 34%. You do not get the full amount of maintenance that your entitlement states as a single payment.
