Hey all, so I received my certificate for Pearsons BTEC level 3 foundation diploma in art and design QCF back in August. Now apparently my university isn't sure this carries any ucas points, if this was the case then I definitely wouldn't have gone for the course. I'm sure this is just a mix up (hopefully).
They said they thought it was the Pearsons Edexcel Diploma in Foundation studies in art and design which means it would carry 80 points.
After searching this on the website it just came up with the certificate I'd received, same qualification number and everything.
Is it possible they've changed some of the technical details of this certificate or something?

    Point them at https://www.ucas.com/file/63541/download?token=biu-sX-Q p78

Pearsons is Pearsons - the only FAD Pearsons offer is the BTEC course. They don't offer an Edexcel one.

Thank you so much, you've saved my bacon

But is there any chance at all that the diploma carries 0 UCAS points?

The only foundation diploma on their ucas tariff calculator (that applies to my certificate) says it is 80 UCAS points. Because the other FAD on the calculator started in 2016 and is an RQF not the QCF which started in 2010

UCAS calculator is crap for FAD courses. They don't know what they're talking about.

If you want to get super technical with them then the QCF version is coded as a QUALTYPE of "BI" on HESA and attracts the same tariff points as the NQF version (which was QUALTYPE "BX" ) which they can look up in https://hesa.azureedge.net/derivedfields/c16051.zip in the XTPOINTS_1.2.1.pdf file

The only BTEC FAD that doesn't attract tariff points is the Level 4 version.
