Chemical engineering and racing(F1)

Hello! I'm an undersgraduate student in Greece and I'm into racing cars and cars in general. Is it possible for a chemical engineer to get into the field of racing? What direction should i follow if i want to get into the field of automobils?

What kind of role are you looking for in the motor sport industry? I'd imagine you'd be far better off with a mech/auto/aero or electrica/electronics/software degree, though.
