You started your second year then dropped out - how long did you spend there before withdrawing formally, and notifying SFE of your change of circumstances?

I notified SFE my second week into my 2nd year as I said I did not receive any maintenance loan or tuition fees for the second year

Did you apply for the maintenance loan initially? I'm surprised they didn't pay you anything as the payment date is usually the first day of the year?

Unless you chose not to apply for it, I don't see how they didn't pay anything out.

Yep, that's classed as a year of funding.

    Why don't you appeal then?

You started your second year and SLC sent money to your bank account - the fact you paid this back is irrelevant; it's still classed as a year of funding.
