Hide in the library and walk really slowly around the school to take up time during breaks. That is what I do.

    Simple.
If anyone comes near you, scream autisticly and wave your arms about like a maniac. That'll show them who's the boss and that they shouldn't mess with you or your personal space.

If I don't feel like facing people I tend to find a quiet spot in the library or I go for a walk, there's a nice park near my college & sometimes take my lunch down there

I would recommend still socialising but finding someone that you like for who they are and vice versa. I have 2 or 3 friends now that I have left college and I haven't seen them face to face for like 2 months, only online chatting and stuff.

Trust me, if you can find someone keep a hold of them, they can get you through hard times.

I know my method isn't the most discreet one but as an alternative, going to a nearby park/library is definitely the best course of action.

My personal preference is setting up at a nearby coffee shop, away from all the noise, and regularly ordering something every hour and a half or so just so they don't throw you out.

Not only do you get a refreshment now and again, I enjoy the atmosphere. Maybe you will too.

Maybe try finding someone who is in the same situation as you, this would help a lot because they would, most likely, not be fake because they are going through what you are, so they know you want a real friend.
