Hey! My girlfriend is pregnant and the due date is fast approaching. Regardless of if I'm allowed to or not I will leave work when she goes into labour but I want to know if I have the right to do that or would I be looking at getting into trouble when I returned... any help would be appreciated

    Hi and congratulations!
I assume you’ve told work that you’re expecting and the estimated due date?
You are entitled to between one and two weeks off with pay ( paternity pay) by law and you should also have been allowed time off with pay for two scans/appointments. Most employers would let you go to them all but not necessarily paid
Your paternity leave will start when you partner goes in to labour. Obviously, unless it’s a planned induction/caesarean you can’t give them an exact date but they can prepare in advance as best as possible
Which is why you should inform your HR/boss asap.
    Good luck

    This covers all your rights
