The whole appointment will take maybe half an hour, as that includes the jewellery selection, paying, explaining what you want etc. Preparing for the piercing (whilst you're on the chair/bed) will take maybe 5 minutes, because they have to mark up the piercing accurately, clean it, get the equipment out. The part where they stab you with a needle is maybe 30 seconds. Afterwards is another few minutes, so they can get the jewellery in, clean up any bleeding, tell you aftercare, and let you sit down if you're feeling faint.

If you mean the healing, that's 6+ months but can sometimes be over a year.

How bad it hurts is an individual thing. Everyone experiences pain differently. You might want to take some paracetamol beforehand if you're worried, and make sure you go to an experienced piercer.
