    How to start & end?

    I had the same problem.

    Start by listing the middle. End and start are the hardest.

    Also come up with sentences and paragraphs on scrap paper and then rearrange them how it makes sense to you.

    Accept that your first draft will be awful. Most of your first draft will end up edited beyond recognition. So you just need to get something down - don't reject it for not being perfect, because perfecting it comes later.


    A good way to start is "I want to study [subject] because..." and fill in the sentence. A lot of the time, the next bit can start your PS on its own. Even if not, it's still a better start than "from a young age, I've always wanted to study [subject]..." which so many people choose.
