    - I am not applying to Cambridge.
    - I went to a lecture at Cambridge in July (law-related).
    - I am applying for Law elsewhere.
Do I mention the benefits I gained from this lecture or not? As I do not plan on going to Cambridge does it mean I should not mention it in my personal statement.

You don't even need to mention that it was at Cambridge, just write about anything interesting in that lecture . "I attended a lecture about... this led me to think about.."

Don't say what university it was at. Just say I went to a lecture at a university about law.

Yes but I have attended lunch hour lectures at QMUL, one at Cambridge and other universities. It would be a little odd to keep mentioning "at a lecture" or "at another lecture"...hmm

Yes, that's fine. I did something similar and mentioned a couple Summer Schools I attended.

Tbh you don't even have to say lecture, you can just say "a study of" "the topic of" "exploring" instead
