    If, when I die, I can save a life by donating whatever is still in good working order, then absolutely. I'll have no use for them once I'm gone! I became an Organ Donor about ten years ago.

    I'd like to think a lot of people think the same way, because surely if your significant other / parent / best friend needed a transplant that they would otherwise die without, you'd want them to have the very best chance. We are all in this together and we will all die; some of us will be scattered and some of us will be buried, but once we're gone... that's it.

    Are you saying that if you were told tomorrow that you needed a transplant in order to continue living, that you'd just be all, "nah you're alright, don't want a second-hand organ from a stranger, thanks"?

    First thing, I don't see transplants as getting a second-hand organ. And secondly I'd be rather apprehensive about having a transplant. For reasons I choose not to disclose, I do not like the idea of having something that's not me in my body.
