I am predicted 8 s in all my subjects bar english and french at gcse. i understand many want an A in english but I struggle immensley with it(bad dyslexia). Is there any chance of me getting in.
Im in year 11 and currently have 112 hours at a animal sanctuary which has large and small animals and two weeks planned and confirmed in ocotber half term. Obvioulsy i will gain more work experience but just wondering if i will stand a chance in a few years?

Most vet schools require a minimum of a grade B in English for gcse, what are you predicted for English and french? Not sure where you got the A from but I honestly wouldn’t worry if you’re predicted essentially A’s (as far as I’m aware an 8 is an A equivalent?) you don’t need to have A*’s across the board at gcse to get in.

You’ll need more work experience yes, you need to have Work experience in a veterinary practice, 2 different ones ideally, but again each vet school requires different work experience you’ll need to look on the individual websites for that.

You’ll need to get the right grades for A level but I honestly wouldn’t worry at this stage with your predicted gcse grades.

8 is regarded as more of an A*/ really high A. 9 is like an A** - meaning it’s the top percentage of the old A*
