The reputation of the BBC has taken a huge battering recently in particular the pay scandal suggesting huge disparities in the pay received by women[1] and ethnic minorities[2].

There are also far better options available to young people such as Netflix and Amazon Prime which blow the older options out of the water in terms of content and convenience so you don't need to suffer to save.

I haven't watched TV voluntarily in years and I don't like Netflix either

When I get my own place I'll just have a TV which I'll use for games and dvds

When they see that the market place is ditching them, they will have to straighten up their acts and fly right, in terms of fielding a diverse set of characters and telling a more diverse set of stories.

The second link relates to racial pay disparities.
