Offered a 20 hour contract at primark, will I find out what shift I'm on in induction and would I be able to ask for an earlier shift if I need to, are they flexible with this?

Did you give availability at interview/application? If you did, it should reflect that and if not you can point them towards it. You should find out then, but if not just ask

When I worked at Primark the shift was in the description so you knew before you applied.

From Experience they are not flexible at all with changing shifts...although that might've been my store
