A level economics can best be described as a social science. It is the art of studying markets, prices and how firs and societies react with one another in terms of prices and supply/demand. Economics has two branches, one being the Macro and one being the micro. At micro we look at firms and the economy whereas in macro we look at the the aggregate levels meaning the total of the whole economy at a global level. This subject is much more interesting than business as its not just revising and regurgitating. Its more of understanding and applying the different concepts you learn in order to come up with the best or most possible outcomes in certain market situations and behaviours. Hope this helped.

You should only really take it, if you have a Business GCSE. It basically carries on from the basics of GCSE business and goes into depth. Apparently, its much easier that business GCSE from someone else's point of view that's taking it right now.
