    Hi guys,
can anyone give me an advice for choosing oxford or cambridge??

I got 44 predicted and took STEP in year 12 and got 1 on STEP 1 and 2 and 2 on STEP 3..

I've solved some MAT past papers and got 76 87 96 97 for 2013 to 2016 in timed exam condition.

I really want to know where I'll have higher chance of getting in casue I know oxford will be slightly easier but cambridge gives out way more offers in mathematics..

    Thanks

I think that it's to do with the way that their admissions work.

Cambridge interview and give offers which are then dependent on STEP. If you get high enough on STEP then you get accepted. (I think)

Oxford interview you if you score high enough on MAT, then interview and give you an offer dependent only on A-Levels (or your other current qualifications).

I suppose that it depends on which of these systems you prefer.

Thanks, so if I'm confident enough to get good marks on STEP next year, I should apply to cambridge..

On the basis of what you've written I would think you could make a competive application to either university. Have you visited either/both unis/cities? Have you looked at course structures at the two? I think these are the most relevant reasons for choosing between the two.
