I'm in year 12 and achieved good GCSE results last year (3 9s, 7 A*s and an A in Add Maths). I'm currently looking at going to a subject specific masterclass for physics and/or chemistry as I want to apply for natural science next year. How useful are the masterclasses? Are they useful just as a personal thing or can they also help with a university application? Will I look like an idiot turning up? How do I suggest going to my parents (I would have to get a lift)? I don't know how they would feel about me applying to Cambridge.

I attended a history one , it was just lectures tbh, admission talk and oppurtunity to talk to current students. Visiting the city was really cool.

I could have applied it to my personal statement ,but I had so many other things I wrote about and it didn't fit into my ps as well . (This might just be because I did so much for my PS so had a wide choice of what to put).

TBH I think you should just go , visitng such a worldclass insitution and experience university style lectures will at least help motivate you to work harder.

Also noone was with their parents but maybe their parents were waiting for them somewhere in the city or something
