    I didnt take sociology at A Level, but am really interested in doing it as a combined honours with history- do you think they would take me anway?

    Of course, as long as you show in your personal statement that you are interested in the subject by having read sociology books/attended sociology lectures.

    Loads of people study a subject at uni that the didn't do at A-level. I'm studying politics at uni right now (also combined honours with history), and I didn't do politics A level.

    Besides, sociology isn't even an option at loads of schools, so there's no way it could be compulsory.
