    Hi,

I'm interested in a career as a neurosurgeon. Could anyone give me advice on how long the process takes. I've done some research into this but would rather appreciate some advise and help.

I'm expecting rather good GCSE's and am applying to do Biology Chemistry and Spanish for A-Level. What paths should I take for the best career in Medicine. I enjoy the thought of eventually being to help people on the road to recovery no matter how hard that is.

    Many thanks

You need to apply for medicine. It will be 5-6 years of university, followed by 2 years of foundation training and 8 years of specialist training to become a consultant neurosurgeon.

However, I would strongly recommend getting some work experience in medicine as you are going to have to train as a general doctor first! So you want to make sure you like it. Your A-levels are fine.
