    Meiosis is used in sexual reproduction and mitosis is used in Asexual reproduction .

    meiosis results in genetically different cells whilst mitosis results in genetically identical cells.

    Meiosis takes place in germ cells and gives rise to four genetically different daughter cells whereas mitosis takes place in somatic cells and gives rise to two genetically identical daughter cells.
