Hi I've recently started studying in September 2017 and receive student finance. However, I am pregnant and my studies will have to be interrupted around may time. I will resume these around next September but with the January cohort. Just wondering if I will have to make my last student finance payment in April last until next September and 're apply for my year 2 which will start in January 2019... I'm unsure how I will make my student finance last that long with 2 children.. has anyone ever been through this? Thanks

    Hi Fayedouglas1905,

We do not normally fund a student beyond their last date of attendance.

However, the Student Support Regulations do allow for discretion to continue paying support if the student has suspended due to exceptional circumstances. E.g. if they are unable to work or claim benefits after leaving their course. Or if they have suspended their course due to medical reasons or pregnancy.

    Thanks Katie
