I've suffered with depression, or what i think is, for atleast the past two years now. I sought help two years ago at the doctors and they bascially did nothing and now my Mum thinks that I am fine, but I have been quitely suffering for the past two years, alone. I have no energy, motivation, no interest in anything and i am constantly sad and low and am struggling to see the point in anything anymore. I am also in year 13, making decisions that affect the rest of my life and I have no interest in doing any of it. But, I am scared to say anything, that the doctors won't do anything again, or just that nothing can ever be done to help me. I am just fed up of constantly fighting it though, I want something to change, I want to feel happiness again. What should i do?

I’m in the exact same boat as you, only I’m in year 12. There’s not much you can do, except maybe look around for some online charities, separate to camhs, that do therapy. I did that and tried out places, some that I didn’t like until I found an amazing place that I’m with right now. If you’re in the London area I would highly recommend the place, PM me for its name! Always here if you want a chat!

Have you not got diagnosed by the doctors then? Also, i live about an hour from London so not too close, is therapy actually helping you?

Just started my first year of University a month ago and I feel exactly like you do trust me except I've never seen a doctor about it. I've felt like this for about a year now.

I have been diagnosed by doctors and have sat through the blood tests questionnaires etc to figure out what’s wrong with me but I’ve just given up now. Therapy at the place I go is helping so much, I hated camhs, but I love it here. It’s just a calm and welcoming environment and my therapist really cares about me. It’s just amazing!

Sounds really amazing! I really need to look into something like that but it is just taking that first step that is scary, you know.

It really does. I feel like crap seeing all my siblings and cousins happily married with children and are all engineers, doctors, dentists etc and I'm just sitting here doing a course I hate with no clue what I actually want to do. I have no hobbies or friends either so that's great lol. I'm considering dropping out of uni and taking a gap year and spend it doing things I actually want to do like travel because I've been stuck in this hole for too long and I hate my life right now.

And like you said in your original post I just have no motivation to do ANYTHING. I literally just feel like I exist and that's all I don't actually do anything.

Maybe you should drop out, if you think that is going to make you happy. But, it could be your depression talking, maybe try and get help before you drop out and see if that makes any difference. Like I said, I'm not really want to talk I am a mess right now but there must be a way out.
