    Hi,

I live in the UK for a little bit more than 3 years now, in 2018 September I am planning to go to university and study pilot studies. Is there any way I can get maintenance loan? I mean I am a good student, getting only D*s in BTec applied Science and that would be a shame if I would have to stop my education because of money. If that helps my mom is in the UK for more than 6 years now.

    Thank you in advance

    Hi Balint.Kulcsar,

In order for us to advise you on what you may be entitled to, can I ask if you and your mum are EU Nationals?

    Thanks,

    Stuart

    Hi Balint.Kulcsar,

As you don't have the required 5 years residency to be awarded the full funding you can still apply through the Migrant Worker (MW) process.

As long as you've been lawfully resident in the EU/EEA for at least 3 years prior to the start of your course, ordinarily resident in England or Wales on the first day of the first academic year of your course and you or your mum can show you are working throughout your studies you would be eligible for the full funding.

There's some more information about the MW process for students that will be working through there studies here. Or if applying as the child of a migrant worker there's more information here.

    Regards,

    Stuart
