I am applying for a volunteer job at a charity organization and I was wondering, in regards to the application, if it would be appropriate to say that I'm also going to be donating to the charity. I want to show that I care but I'm afraid that it comes off as me trying to bribe my way into the role. I know that volunteers work for free and a bribe is only a bribe if the briber wants something in return but the thing is technically I am bribing because what I want in return is a boosted CV....

I wouldn't mention it. It isn't evidence of a particular skill and donating takes no effort.
