    Please can someone explain to me why the following statements are true or false?

    i) n = 2 only if n^2 - n - 2 = 0. TRUE
    ii) n = 2 if n^2 - n - 2 = 0. FALSE
    iv) n =2 is necessary for n^2 - n - 2 = 0. FALSE
    viii) n^2 - n - 2 = 0 <= (n = 2 or n = -1). TRUE
    ix) (n^2 - n - 2 = 0 => n = 2) or (n^2 - n -2 = 0 => n = -1). FALSE
    x) (n^2 - n - 2 = 0 <= n = 2) or (n^2 - n - 2 = 0 <= n = -1). TRUE
    xi) (n^2 - n - 2 = 0 <= n = 2) and (n^2 - n - 2 = 0 <= n = -1). TRUE

    Thank you.
