I have no experience except working in an academic lab for a year! This seems like a wasted application for myself really Good luck with your application! I keep putting applying off
When I was doing the application last year, I got all the way through the interview stage with nothing more than working at a grocery store and a year as a college lab assistant. Who knows if I could have passed the AC, almost regret not going for it. Don't shrug it off as a wasted app; just try your best and remember selling your skills is far more important than having heaps of experience. They aren't expecting uni leavers to have heaps of industry experience already built up.

Thank you for that- that really reassures me! Might go for it, if nothing else I'll get practice doing the tests and answering competency questions at least

It's not the worst application to use as a practice one. And if you DO get to the interview, it's really good preparation for other apps. I don't know if it's the same system as last year, but it was a video interview thing, which is a weird system if you've never done one before and it can throw you off.

It’s never a wasted application! It’s always worth a shot, the worst they can do is say no and then you try again next year. But a year of academic lab experience will be good to write about in the motivational section.

Anyone who is waiting for a video interview, how long did it take for them to make a decision?

I think it depends on when the assessment centre is for your chosen scheme. I asked for micro and they said it will be a bit of a wait because the assessment centre isn’t until Feb.

I applied for Procurement - did the tests and submitted motivational questions on 22/10 and heard nothing since.

Have a feeling it could be a while as I think all AC's are in the new year

Yeah that's what they said to me, interviews could be anytime between now and January, for my programme because of the AC in Feb. They said they're interviewing the people who have applied for programmes where the AC is in December.
