I am an international Student who is doing postgrad in the UK. Since moving here I have had trouble obtaining an international student bank account (mainly just getting an appointment to complete the process.

I had an appointment w/Barclay's to finally finish this but when I showed up to the designated time and branch location I found the place closed. I.e. they give me an appointment at a closed branch. Due to this and the increasing urgency of needing to get an account to avoid continued foreign transaction loses I am hesitant to continue doing business with Barclays.

I spoke to Sandtander too but was very turned off by the fact that they charge fees for everything on their student accounts.

I was wondering what banks had good foreign student accounts that charged as few fees as possible? And are a good deal overall?

    Thank you in advance!

I can only think Nat west. But you are a postgrad international student which is even less attractive fir them. You need to check the fees as it might be no better.

ps there are very few bank accounts specifically for internat sudents and even fewer for postgrads. You arent really a target market as you return home. They are most interested in UK undergrads who will stat around for a long time.

You might find this thread useful https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/sho....php?t=4813726

I posted some guidance from the British Banking Association on there.

    Hope that helps
