I want to go into Journalism, however I want to go Uni of Manchester which doesn’t offer that degree. Also, I don’t want to feel trapped by having just a journalism degree. I’ve wanted to do English Literature but I’m unsure as to where I’d go with just that, so I was thinking perhaps it would be better to do an English Literature degree and then do a masters in Journalism. Any advice or thoughts would be helpful!

I think that's a fab idea. Doing straight English will open up a range of career pathways, and if you continue wanting to do journalism you could do a masters afterwards. You don't even necessarily need a qualification in journalism to go into it either, a strong English degree with some work experience will get you there too. Good luck!

Agreed that your suggestion is the better one, very few journalists do BA Journalism. Get plenty of work experience- campus newspaper, radio station e.c.t and even local newspaper if you can and then consider whether you want to stick with journalism.
