So in year 10 I missed the year because I was ill and could not attend and just at the end I came back and done my exams. I found the English language exam easy but I had an F and now I’m with all of the people who need help and can’t do it but normally I’m at the top. And my teacher said that’s because of my attendance and not going to school.. is that true I had a lower grade just because I missed school? Why

Just to check - are you talking about mock exams?

If you're talking about an actual GCSE then the people marking it have no knowledge of your attendance. It appears that you must just have done badly in the exams themselves.

Were those your final examinations I mean? (you mention that you were placed with those who needed additional assistance) As Compost said above, if that is the case, the examiner would not have known your circumstances, hence the F would be down to bad performance.

the more you miss of school, the harder it is to perform well in exams and general work. no, attendance won't directly affect your exam results but unless you're asking about the work or are just able to catch up really well, it's really gonna affect your performance in the exam.
