I was looking at some FOI requests related to Oxford maths admission statistics, and I came across these two documents (I've attached them to this post).
I noticed immediately that St Johns seems to have a very high bar in terms of MAT performance when it comes to accepting applicants. This trend appears relatively constant, even during bad MAT years like 2013.
Some of the requests were repeated between the two documents, and noticed that the data given for each were not the same:
In the document titled "Pooling at ChCh...Trinity.docx", the data points for (year, average MAT score) for SJC are listed as (2014, 62.7) and (2015, 72.2). However, the document titled "Avg and lowest MAT...2015.docx" reports (2014, 74.4) and (2015, 82.3). The differences between these scores are pretty large.
Am I missing something, or is this indeed inconsistent reporting of MAT score data? What could be the cause of this?
