If you want to go for a historical approach to the Middle eastern conflict, you could have your question as "(Factor X) was the main cause of the middle eastern conflict". Then you could argue how that factor and many other factors were the cause of the middle east conflict and at the end come to a conclusion on which was the main factor. So you might want to get a list of the main causes of the Middle eastern conflict and choose one which you will argue in favour of.
I did something similar for mine; my question was "The Soviet Union was the biggest factor in the defeat of Nazi Germany during WW2". I argued how it was, but I introduced other factors and eventually came to a conclusion on why the USSR was the biggest factor, where I wrote a lot about why the other factors were not as important/ wouldn't have had their importance without the USSR.
I hope this makes sense or helps. Good luck
