Cardiff University is one of the universities I want to attend to study Dentistry however I got my GCSE English remark back today as I was only one mark off an A but my mark stayed at a B yet the entry requirement for Cardiff is an A at GCSE English. In all 12 of my other GCSEs I got A's so do you think this grade will prevent Cardiff from even considering my application?

You need a minimum of 5 A* for Cardiff anyway.

Well it may have changed but when I went to the open day with my daughter last year they said 5 A* was the minimum accepted. Plus you don't have the required A in English so it would be a waste of a choice imo.

I would ring them and ask, make sure to always get whatever you ask over the phone in writing!! (Eg email) because you never know for sure if someone is just saying it
