    Here is the question
    Convert into improper fractions and divide.

    To get you started, 5 \frac{5}{6}=\frac{35}{6}

    What's 1 \frac{1}{4} as an improper fraction?

    You may also find this useful: \frac{\frac{a}{b}}{\frac{c}{d}}=  \frac{ad}{bc}

    change the question a bit
    if the circuit was 4 miles long and the straight section was 2 miles long, what fraction of circuit is straight section?
    Well it's 2/4 since straight section / whole circuit. Do you understand now?

    So you can check your answer, it should be a number of 14ths.

    Ah, I misread/misunderstood the question, I assumed it was talking about a singular straight section as in only one of the numerous ones and so I thought an image was needed.

    I tried all dividing methods and got 14/3 as my simplest answer but it’s wrong. I even changed it to 4 and 2/3 but it is still wrong 😐
