Click bait title aside, here's the deal.

I moved into a house with two other guys. The tenancy for the other two started in June, however I only started at the end of September. Now since the tenancy has started, there has been no WiFi, in that we have a router (we've tried 3 actually) but we can't connect to the internet. No one moved in until October so this was never brought up to the agency until now.

On top of this the toilet light doesn't work and the cord to turn it on has also been cut, which i imagine was done intentionally because there's an issue with the light. Not only this, but the upstairs shower also just doesn't work.

We've contacted the Lettings Agency (Nicholas Humphry's in case anyone's wondering - avoid like the plague if you're looking for housing atm) and it's been over 3 weeks and nothing's been sorted. The person responsible for this house never seems to be in.

All this stuff was in the contract we signed, I made sure to check WiFi especially. The house was also advertised as 2 showers. So we're also looking to get the rent reduced until this is all fixed as they're not upholding the contract we both signed.

Is there anything else I can do to put pressure on them? Any authority that deals with housing issues like this or like an ombudsman or something?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Tenancy starting in June and you not moving in till later is your problem. they are normally 52 week leases. The rent tends t be proportionately lower than uni rents to reflect this.
