Don't know what to do watch

Hello i'm 17, i left school and spent a year in sixth form and failed it (last year). Now ive started a retail course at a crap college which i have no interest in and i wanted to do an apprenticeship instead, i went to the other college and they told me that im too late and they're only starting interviews in March and i could start next year..

The college that im currently at only gives me £40 a week for being there and theyre gonna put me on an unpaid work placement for the course (its two years long)

The problem is that i want to work in IT and the retail course is useless to get into that sector, im also repeating my maths as I got a D grade while i was repeating it in sixth form..

Should i leave the course and get a job or should i stay the year and do the apprenticeship next year? (Im only going to that college for the money)

I've wasted so much time and idk what to do. Ill be 18 the time year apprenticeship starts?

    Some advice please??

If you're interested in one thing but started a course on something completely different, that was a bit silly and yes, it is a waste of your time. If there is a better course for you but it doesn't start for a while, get a job and some experience behind you - doesn't have to be directly connected to the course you want to do or what you hope to do in the future, because everyone needs to learn what a working environment is like, how to deal with unusual or tense situations and develop personal skills.
Do you think parents should charge rent?
