So as it turns out the appointment for setting up my bank account falls almost exactly on the time I'm supposed to be having a lecture. Since I tried calling yesterday to reschedule the appointment and found no other time for the rest of October I'm legit considering skipping the lecture and just going to the appointment instead.

Is this a good idea? Do I really need a student bank account since I already have one of my own? (Under my dad's name anyway)

    What bank account is it?
Banks like Santander and Nationwide have online applications to set up student accounts, meaning that you no longer need to go in branch to set it up.

I'd skip the lecture unless it's super important - you can always catch up online or get notes off a friend
