I am currently studying in my second year at university for a HND in Health and Social Care. I would like to do BSc Mental Health Nursing beginning September 2018 but I am confused about my funding options. Would I be able to get funding from SFE, even though it will count as a second degree?

    Hi Lizzie96e,

From 2017, new students studying Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional students may no longer be eligible to receive the NHS bursary; this means that these students can apply to receive full support from student finance.

NHS designated courses are also ELQ (equivalent level qualification) exception courses.

This rule still applies when a student holds a qualification higher than their new course, for example a Masters qualification. You can be confident you will be able to receive full support from Student Finance England.

    Thanks Rona
