Today I had my tutor evening and I was told I am predicted Cs, high and low. To be honest it was upsetting I get it that I am in AS and I have only been in school for a month, but it feels like GCSES again; when I came in results day and saw Bs and Cs. I am very hardworking, but sometimes I can't make time for some things because of art. My whole day just goes being devouted to homework and that's it. All my efforts seems pointless.

    You've just started A-Levels right?

Don't worry about it. These grades don't define you, they aren't sent to University, they aren't shown to anyone and don't mean anything. They are given to you so that the school can measure how well you are performing relative to how well you did in GCSE's. It's an Ofsted thing essentially.

Get all A's for your first year and walk into year 13 with straight A* predictions and open doors into top 10 univeristies.

    Year 12.
aha i think you're most likely looking at target grades no PREDICTED grades . I'm in the exact same spot as you , i got mostly b's and c's in gcse and all my target grades are C's , trust me those mean jacksh*it , the school is giving you those grades because all they had to see of you is you gcse's , just work hard from now and you can easily prove to your teachers that u are capable of much more . Those target grades literally mean nothing, and your teachers will believe that they are nothing too. I got BBB target, teachers never really mentioned it except to show progress in November mocks. I then went on to get AAAB at AS

You don't need to be a genius to get A's or A*'s. Also those target grades are retarded you just started the year. Aim for what you want and ignore them. Don't burn yourself out its just the start of the year. Just do any homework you have, revise for any tests and relax during any free time. You don't need to be constantly revising and prepping for exams in june.

I worked hard and working 10times harder for A2. You get out of life what you put in , right now you feel like AS are too hard/ time consuming but you do get used to it and you get more efficient.

I would say right now focus on your homework (if you get as much as I did ) and making sure you understand what you do in class. Try to start revision in OCT half term for your December mocks then after those December mocks work on your feedback for the actual exams. The more you revise you find that you start to understand which revision techniques works for you.

For me doing essay subjects I find that making up my own essay questions and making essay plans then doing essays works (can't do all not enough time), creating subheadings for my notes also works, quiz cards for some subjects too
