short girls like tall guys because the feeling of security/femininity is greater than that of a shorter guy.
typically the more a woman emcompasses feminity, the higher the masculinity she seeks in a male partner [relative to herself]

being short is typically a more feminine trait, being tall typically more a masculine trait

also on a deeper level a short girl knows that mating with a short guy will yield short male children ..who will likely find it challenging to attract a woman and procreate. By choosing a tall guy as her partner her children are more likely not to be short
