What grades do you realistically need for medicine? I know many uni’s ask for AAA but have heard you almost certainly need higher?

Majority of unis ask for AAA, but it all depends really. Some ask for A*AA such as KCL, Imperial and Oxford, and Cambridge is the only one I think that ask for A*A*A. However, there are unis that do foundation year courses that only require BBB but you have to meet other certain criteria aswell.

What they state their offer will be is what their offer will be. If that's AAA then AAA is fine.

It depends quite a lot on the uni. For most just meeting the offer would be fine. There are unis such as Exeter where you get a significant advantage if you're predicted very high grades and would stand no chance with AAA-A*AA. Once you get an offer that offer is all you need though.
