so basically the past few months ive lost quite a bit of weight. ive never been a skinny girl but never large either, but even one of my old teachers noticed when i saw them for the first time since the summer term. im a little more thirsty now, and i need to use the bathroom probably betwee 7 and 10 times a day. i get SUPER tired after eating food. just the other day i fell asleep for nearly 3 hours after eating dinner. im booked in for a fasting blood test soon, where i cannot eat after 8pm the day before, and my test isnt untl around 11am. my grandad has type 2, but otherwise no family history of type 1. just want to know peoples opinions rather than a medical proffesional again, as they tend to overcomplicate things and words. do you think i could have type 1. i just want to get more energy again. im a sporty person and after my warm up the other day at gymnastics i got a bit dizzy and more tired than normal. i also get breathless (like walking up the stairs kind of breathless) really easily, like from a brisk walk or going up a small flight of stairs.

You need tests to work out what's going on cos there are so many possibilities. You're getting that done so just try not to worry about it until then.
If you find doctors confusing you can bring somebody to appointments with you or ask them to explain things for you.

with your symptoms i would say there is a very good chance you are. make sure the doctor checks your ketones. you need a finger prick test to speed up the referral to hospital i was seen by my gp at 10 am left the hospital at 3.30pm as a type1 all your symptoms plus minor infections. i was on the verge of acidosis. dont miss you appointment.
