    Hi everyone.

I'm looking for advice what to do my AH chem and bio projects on. I am clueless, my teachers have loaded me with ideas but I have no clue which to pick.

I'm interested in analytics and forensics - please help! What have people done which they got high marks on?

There's not going to be projects that guarantee you a high mark, it all depends on the quality. So just pick something that appeals to you and run it by your teachers. I did my AH chem project on the synthesis of Benzocaine and got 27/30. The synthesis was quite complex - including various mechanisms that aren't fully understood - and took a while as some steps required prolonged periods watching over the reaction and it was hard to find the time. There was plenty to write about in the Underlying chemistry and Evaluation, you'll be struggling to stay under the word limit. However, you don't need to perform a synthesis to be rewarded high marks. My friend did an analysis of the composition of coins and got the same mark as me and his practical was comparatively simple. So it all depends on the effort you put in.
