Anyone have any advice about how to get parents interested in your future? I'm year 13 and getting my stuff sorted for my personal statement for my uni application at the moment, and I wanted to talk to my parents about universities I'd been looking at but they're really not interested and don't want me to go. They said it was because they think I'm too anxious and therefore would drop out anyway, but I really want their input on where I end up. I tried talking to them together, and separately but they both really aren't interested in it (eg, I talked to my mum and explained my choices for different unis and at the end she just asked why my brother was angry at her, not saying anything else at all). Does anyone have any advice for this?

Ask them direct, small, questions that should get some straight answers. If you say: "I'm not sure which universities to apply to" then you make it harder for them to provide you with the responses you want. It's a bit like making a thread on TSR.
