For some odd reason I never received a Course abroad form before leaving.

Because of this, I'm trying to get student finance to acknowledge that I am studying abroad for this year so I can complete a Travel grant expenses form because the Erasmus grant I received(£1700) will not cover all my expenses for my duration in Germany but it has proven to been a pain to do!

I have called multiple times and been told different things each time. So far I have:
    1. Sent in a change of circumstances form to SFE.

In an email from my home universities international officer they said:
"If you start to complete the SFE forms you should be able to locate the Course Abroad Form (I can’t access the site as I don’t have Log In details). You will need to get either me or your Subject Administrator to sign it and will also need a letter of confirmation from NTU that you are abroad in 2017/18. Again, your Subject Administrator can do this."

Can I not simply be done with the change of circumstances form and send in my receipts with expenses form to get money back on expenses without having to complete a course abroad form?

    Hi peterpsak,

We will require confirmation that you are going to be studying abroad if you have indicated this on your application.

Universities can send us spreadsheets containing a list of all students that will be studying abroad. However if you are not included on these, we will need confirmation so we can determine that you are eligible for a Travel Grant.

In circumstances where your name hasn't been included on the spreadsheet from your University we can accept a Course Abroad (CAB) form.

This form will act as evidence that you will be studying at an overseas institution and should be completed by your University or College in the UK.

If your name is not on the spreadsheet, check on your Correspondence tab on your accoun, that you have not already been sent one, you can print it from there or call us on,

    Tel: 0300 100 0607

(Open Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 8.00pm and between 9.00am and 4.00pm on Saturday and Sunday. Local call rates apply).

    Thanks Rona
