Hello!I'm a mature student studying an access to HE course in Biomedical Science (Biology, Chemistry and maths subjects)I am applying to:King's - Nutrition and DieteticsSurrey - Nutrition and DieteticsHertfordshire - DieteticsLondon Met - Dietetics and NutritionUCL - Nutrition and Medical SciencesI live in West London so wanted somewhere commutable! My experience is varied, with lots of experience at a hydrotherapy pool, working with a range of people with physical or learning disabilities. I have worked in a Hospital for nearly a year as a Healthcare assistant, working alongside dietitians and have recently started a role as a specialist therapy technician in the community, working under Physios, consultants and Dietitians. I also have some experience shadowing a specialist Dietitian in the workplace.I'm worried about how competitive the course seems to be! But i sent off my application last week so it's just a waiting game now!Have you heard back from anyone yet?

hey there! glad to meet some people who are also applying. good luck with your application! unfortunately, I attend a rather big college and my head of hall (who will submit my UCAS) still hasn't gotten round to seeing it which is frustrating but there isn't much I can do.

I really don't know how competitive it will be because I don't know anyone applying except for you and another person I was speaking to...do you have any numbers?

    The stats for you:

19-44% applicants recieving offers, depending on the University.
    6-14 applicants per place
13% fall in applications since the fees were introduced - mostly from mature students

Dietetics can be extremely competitive, more so than medicine sometimes, at some places.

    Hope that helps 😊

UCL: Nutrition and Medical Sciences: Conditional Offer AAB

If I don't get an offer from Surrey, there is a good chance I will firm UCL, regardless of any offer from Notts, Leeds Beckett, or King's. The interview days may change my mind, but we shall see.
if you don't mind me asking, why are you going to firm UCL when they don't offer the dietetics course? will you go on to do a post grad after?

Oh gosh! I hope they get that sorted out for you soon! It’s such a relief when it’s all sent off!

I just got an interview at Hertfordshire today on the 13th December so looking forward to that!
