So I know at Scottish unis you study 3 subjects for the first year, now im interested in studying philosophy and politics but for a 3rd subject choice is it possible to choose a new subject you haven't got typical requirements for, or do those requirements still apply? For example could my 3rd subject choice for the 1st year be say Geography, even though I don't have the required A level/level 3 experience? I know to apply to an actual named degree in such a subject you'd need the subject requirements, but I'm curious as to whether you do still if you're just taking it as a 3rd subject for the 1st year merely to experience something different.
