I am re-applying via ucas. In my last personal statement I lied about something as it was very personal and I didn't want to give the real reason. However I have matured since then and am including the real reason in my new personal statement. Will unis check my previous PS and use that as evidence that I lied and then possibly reject me because of this or will they understand that it was personal and I didn't want to speak about it last year.

    Thanks
Unlikely and you have a genuine reason supposedly. Without knowing the two, then its hard to say really. I wouldnt worry, but you could be thoughtful on how you phrase your application.
