I’m applying to Primary Education next year, which obviously needs a DBS check as part of the entry requirements. Do I have to get a DBS with both my firm choice of university and my backup? Does that mean I have to pay two sets of fees? That seems like a lot of money for just a just-in-case scenario

I think you normally get one done once your firm has accepted you, if they put it down as unpaid work then the dbs could be free.

DBS are only guaranteed for the day they are issued. If you need more than one then its easier to pay for the update service.at £13 and then an employer can instantly see.
