    Hi there,

I am a third year Computer Science student and I am attending a Rusell Group University. The Computer Science department is fairly good. I am thinking of doing postgraduate masters at a more competitive and reputable university such as Imperial/ UCL.

Issue (1): I believe that I do not have a strong mathematical background to study advanced CS at a more competitive University. I have a solution for this which could be to enrol in a pre-master program for Mathematics. Any opinions? Any courses to suggest that focus on closing gaps on Maths before studying masters?

Issue (2): I am heading towards a first-class degree. How much more difficult would it be to study on such Universities especially advanced Computer Science.

P.S. I can contact the Institutions and find about the difficulty on the material taught, but I am trying my luck to find anyone already studying it.

P.S. I am 22 would it be too much to do 2 more degrees (pre-master/master)?

P.S. I have already some offers for employment but I would love to study further.

P.S. Master on Software Engineering is also appealing to me.

    Thanks,

How have you worked out that you don't have the required maths background? You really should contact the unis and ask before setting off on another course which will require time and money. Basically as long as you meet the entry requirements and have good refs and a strong personal statement you should be fine.
