I was wondering if someone can help. My son has always wanted to join the army. Last month he was at the age to start the progress of joining up for it so as soon as he had finished his exams next year he could go harrogate in September. Every thing was going good till they got his medical records back.
It seems that he was given a p8 (can't join) because he has hyperhidrosis a condition that causes you to sweat from hand and feet and face. My son has none of that he just sweats from his armpits. And was put on tablets, he only takes the tablets on the odd occasions.
Can't understand why he has been turn away, if it was hands and feet I could understand but from armpit I'm shocked.
Has anyone else had a problem? I'm going to appeal as I have one very upset 15 year old.
If anyone can help we would be truly greatful

    .................
In order to make an appeal you will have to provide further evidence of the diagnosis and how minimally it impacts or that it was a misdiagnosis or similar. You can only appeal on the basis that the medical board had not seen all the relevant information. You cannot appeal just because you disagree with their medical judgment.

Thanks for the reply, yes we intend on going to the gp Monday to see if he can write them a letter to explain that it isn't an issue. Just wondered if anyone had a similar problem.
